Fuelnomy

Mission

Fuelnomy is a start-up whose aim is to reduce atmospheric pollution by assembling autonomous cars that would transform CO2 to fuel. Implementing this technology into vehicles will not only make them eco-friendly but also environmental cleaners.

Fuelnomy’s technology is based on a recent finding by Song et al. (2016), which applied a nanostructured catalyst capable of transforming CO2 to ethanol with a 63% efficiency. Hence, our idea consists in commercialising a technology that has already been invented in a way that would maximise its impact and enable it to fulfil its ecological potential. The nanocatalyst is comprised of copper and graphene. Therefore, despite the cost of graphene, the fact that it would only be used on a nanoscale makes our catalyst production inexpensive. Fuelnomy would address issues related to car air pollution, not only by not emitting carbon dioxide but also by actively transforming it into energy, an aspect in which this technology differs from that of electric cars.
