GlocalX

Mission

GlocalX Empowers doubly disadvantaged youth with digital literacy and soft skills to match specific work opportunities. After 50 years of conflict, the Colombian Government signed a peace agreement. However, the conflict left more than 8 million victims of which 1.4 million are forced displaced young women. Deleting terrorism form the equation has increased Colombian foreign investment, industries and business, which are demanding more operational entry-level jobs. According to the Colombian Ministry of Labour, there are vacancies for about 20.000 entry-level jobs.

GlocalX empower women with essential skills and connect them with B corporations by a 2-stage process. We designed a 12-week part time outcome-oriented program with 3 modules: Self Esteem, Basic digital literacy and Soft Skills. The design was based on World Tech Makers methodology (experts in training in disruptive technologies and skills) and iinsights from UCL Institute of Education teachers (Worlds #1 Faculty of Education).

We aim to partner with Triple Bottom Line businesses and offer them the creation of inclusive workplaces and a decrease of turnover rates. We have approached 2 of the 51 certified B Corps in Colombia.
