Loizou&Co at the 2018 London Investment Banking Conference

Loizou & Co participated in the LSESU London Investment Banking Conference (LIBC) which took place on Saturday the 27th of October 2018 at the Barbican Centre. The conference was organised by the London School of Economics Students’ Union (LSESU).

The LIBC 2018 is EMEA’s largest student-led Investment Banking Conference, which runs for the 8th consecutive year and attracted more than 2,000 delegates.

Since its inception the conference hosted many industry leading participants and attracted more than 2,000 past delegates. Through a full day of keynote addresses, workshops, and networking sessions, the conference provided unparalleled insight into the world of investment banking to the delegates; including current LSE students, or others who wish to enter the field of investment banking.

This year, LIBC focused on the skill sets required for the banking industry and engaged speakers and delegates into discussion on the future prospect of the field.

Louis Loizou, partner at Loizou & Co, gave the opening keynote speech at the LIBC 2018 conference.

He presented Loizou & Co’s credentials in financial advisory and provided an insight into the company’s investment platform in high growth sectors such as BioTech, EdTech, AgriTech and FinTech. Louis also touched based upon the future of investment banking with reference to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation.

Besides, he stressed that innovation in the industry is mostly seen outside the bulge bracket investment banks; while boutique investment banks have an important role to play in the new economy.
